Easy Cream Cheese Frosting
Cream Cheese Frosting is an essential for Carrot cake, Red Velvet cake, Oreo cake and even Chocolate cake. Its tartness is the perfect match for those hearty decadent cakes, cutting the sugar flavour to create a creamy and heavenly master piece. But how could such yummy icing be so easy to make?
8 oz block cream cheese (room temperature)
8 tablespoon (1 stick) butter (room temperature)
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cut room temperature cream cheese and butter into cube. It is crucial for both to be soft.
In a mixer with a paddle, add cream cheese and beat until creamy and smooth without lumps, add butter and beat until creamy. Do not over mix .
Sift confectioner's sugar into butter and mix until smooth.
Add sugar and vanilla, mix until smooth.
Refrigerate for up to 1 week.
Bring frosting back into room temperature before decorating
