Red Velvet Cake
Once you have tried this Red Velvet cake, you will never look back. It is super crumbly and really velvety and melts right in your mouth.
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons of red food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk or whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
2 teaspoon white vinegar
Pre-grease with butter and flour 2 6" Round cake pan.
Preheat over at 350F or 177C for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, sift flour, salt, cocoa powder and set aside.
In another large bowl or in a mixer, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla and red food coloring.
Add 1/3 of flour mixture into batter and whisk, then add 1/3 milk and whisk. Repeat until combined and smooth.
In a small bowl, combine vinegar and baking soda.
Add vinegar mixture into batter and whisk until combine.
Pour into cake pan and place in oven, bake for about 30 minutes until toothpick test comes out clean in the center.
Let cool completely before decorating with cream cheese frosting.
